Dr. Daskalova is a licensed clinical psychologist in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. As part of her training, Dr. Daskalova had the privilege of working in community mental health settings, hospital-affiliated clinics, and three university counseling centers in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Daskalova completed her predoctoral residency and her postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Clinically, she is experienced in addressing concerns related to mood, trauma, identity and career development, adjustment and acculturation, and family-of-origin difficulties. Dr. Daskalova further has particular interest and expertise in working with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as with young professionals and individuals seeking to make a career change. She also has an extensive background working with clients who have an immigrant or international background. Dr. Daskalova's therapeutic style is warm and collaborative in nature, and she flexibly draws from a range of evidence-based interventions including relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches. In addition to her clinical practice, she has experience providing supervision to graduate-level master's interns and doctoral externs completing their degrees and seeking licensure in Illinois. Lastly, Dr. Daskalova remains engaged in teaching, research, and consultation work. She is an adjunct instructor at Loyola University Chicago, where she teaches classes to graduate students in the Counseling Psychology department.
